German startup Lilium aims to make flying cars a reality in the 2020s. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the design of Lilium’s all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) jet. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) had previously issued its approval in 2020. Lilium has raised an impressive $1 billion since its founding in 2015 and has developed an eVTOL jet that aims to outperform the competition, offering faster and longer flights. The company plans to commence commercial flights by late 2025.
