While it might be hard for many Staten Islanders to consider life without a car, given the borough’s dearth of mass transit options and limited walkability in certain neighborhoods, plenty of people across the world get around on a daily basis without a personal vehicle.
And while Staten Island may be an exception, New York City, as a whole, ranks among the best cities in the country to live without a car, according to a recent study.
